Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to AMS must be original work that has not been published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be peer reviewed. For the submission, the manuscripts should be prepared by using the journal format, which its template can be downloaded from here.

All submission should be submitted online through the Online Journal System (OJS), and please provide three potential reviewers during the submission (list it under "Comments for the Editor" column).

The following is the brief description of what is expected to contain within a manuscript:


Manuscripts should be headed by a concise title. Please include the full name(s) of the author(s), complete mailing address, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address. In case of multiple authorships, please indicate the main author to whom all correspondence concerning the paper should be directed.


All manuscripts should be accompanied by self-contained abstracts, of not more than 200 words. The abstract should cover the aims, scope and conclusion of the paper. After the abstract, provide a maximum of five (5) keywords for information retrieval purposes.


Normally, manuscripts should consist of the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion. Each section and sub-section should be numbered using the Arabic numerals. Please use SI Units for all scientific and laboratory data.


All tables should be kept simple and clear, and should be referred to in the text. They should be numbered and titled.


Illustrations should only be included if they are informative and add to the understanding of the reader. Illustrations including diagrams and graphs should be sharp, noise free and of good contrast. Line drawings should be in black ink on a white background and lettering size must be large enough to permit legible reduction whenever necessary.


All equations must be clearly typed, tripled-spaced and should be identified or numbered accordingly.


A brief acknowledgment can be included at the end of the manuscript, before the list of references.


References should appear in a separate Reference section at the end of the manuscript, using numerals in square brackets.

Once accepted, all authors must sign the Transfer of Copyright agreement before the article can be published. Copyright of articles that appear in APPLICATIONS OF MODELLING AND SIMULATION belongs exclusively to the Malaysian Simulation Society. This copyright covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, electronic reproductions or any other reproductions of similar nature.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission is an original work and has not been previously published, or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. The first submission file should be in pdf format. For revised submission, Microsoft Word document file format is required.
  3. Submission should use the provided template which can be downloaded from this website.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  5. Three potential reviewers (Name, Institution, Email address) have been listed in the "Comments for the Editor" as below.

Copyright Notice

Copyright to the above article is hereby transferred to Malaysian Simulation Society effective upon acceptance for publication. The copyright transfer covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, electronic reproductions, or any other reproductions of similar nature. However, the following rights are reserved by the author(s):

1. All proprietary rights other than copyright, such as patent rights.

2. The right to use, free of charge, all or part of this article in future works of their own,such as books or lectures; and

3. The right to reproduce this article for their own purposes provided the copies are notoffered for sale.
